W4F - Fluefiske Island

Ken Tanaka of Wish4Fish is back on the water! This time, teaming up with Kristján Páll Rafnsson and Gunnar Örn Petersen of Fish Partner and taking his fly fishing adventures to Iceland. First stop was the Southern Highlands of Iceland on the Tungnaá (Tungnaa) and Kaldakvísl (Kaldakvisl) River. Then it was off to the North East region to fantastic dry fly water of Laxá í Aðaldal or otherwise known as the Big Laxa! We then headed to the SUPER exclusive water of Skarðsá (Skardsa). This was over 50 miles of private water and we were the only ones on the entire river. Some holes were fished for the first time by us! Ending the trip in the world–renowned water of Lake Þingvallavatn (Thingvallavatn)! Here we fished for the Ice Age Trout! These native beast have been trapped in there since the ice age and have grown to enormous size and the strength of 100x any fish I have ever caught!
